SCHPA Tournaments Schedule
SCHPA club-hosted tournaments are scheduled throughout the year most weekends. This schedule lists the tournament date, check-in time, club's courts address, and entry fee amount. (See the club information below.) To enter a tournament, just show up at the club's horseshoe courts before the tournament's deadline check-in time, check in with the Tournament Director with your membership number, and pay the entry fee. You will be seeded into the tournament with a group of players having similar skill levels assuring good competition and a fair opportunity for you being the group's winner! Tournament play starts 30 minutes after the deadline check-in time. In addition to these "walk-up" weekly tournaments, there are 3 premier "pre-reg" tournaments during the year that you MUST enter as follows:
NHPA World Tournament -- Hosted by the NHPA in July at different locations each year and attracts players from around the world. World champions are determined for each membership division. See the NHPA website for tournament information and the entry form. It is worth the entry fee just to see the world's best players compete. There are players able to pitch over 90% ringers! Don't worry about your skill level! It is open to all NHPA members and you will be seeded in a player group with similar skill levels. The entry deadline is around mid May; see the entry form for the exact entry deadline.
California State Championships -- Held over Labor Day weekend in southern and northern California in alternate years for California's NHPA members. California state champions are determined for each membership division. See the tournament's entry and sponsor forms for tournament information, the entry restrictions/deadline (usually 1 August), and the Sponsor Form. The location of this tournament alternates between Southern and Northern California each year; on even numbered years, it is in the south and on odd numbered years, it is in the north. These State Championships are governed by mutually agreed to Bylaws and Rules.

SCHPA Horseshoe Pitchers Clubs
There are SCHPA Clubs scattered throughout the southern half of California; so, there is a club near you! This clubs listing provides each club's name/location, address of the club's courts, and a contact person. All of our clubs have first class horseshoe courts built to NHPA specifications and sanctioned for official NHPA events. Talk to your closest club's contact and ask about their informal games or practice sessions by local players. Most of our courts are located in public parks and available for use by the general public whenever not scheduled for a tournament.
