Lifetime Ringer Percent Averages
Per our Bylaws, one of the responsibilities of the 5th VP Statistician is to maintain the lifetime stats for all SCHPA pitchers. The linked files lists our members in Alphabetical order. You will need Microsoft Excel or know someone who has it to access and view this information. The information for each pitcher includes lifetime average, highest yearly average, and individual year’s average. These stats are based on the records kept by the SCHPA statistician going back to 1929. Some averages are based on a single entry in a log book or your October reported stats (beginning of our pitching season) and others are based on the entire year’s averages combined. This depended on the method of record keeping used. Going forward, I will take everyone’s average (Total ringers divided by total shoes pitched) from the prior year, as of October. After entering the stats, I can only say they are incomplete. Some years seem to have missing averages or missing names. Early years did not include a member number. And early numbers were reused over and over again. To separate them from current members, I added a 9 in front of the old numbers. So, if a member had number 40001 and left and it was reissued; I changed the old member's number to 940001. This is purely for my record keeping. As for the missing data, unless you have something that tells me what your average was for a missing year, there is not much that can be done about it. However, names can be updated if you know the full name or nickname for somebody (Keep it clean).
This database is so large it really can’t be printed out or presented as a PDF. Therefore, the information is broken into 4 easier to read parts:
Member's last name begins with A through D
Member's last name begins with E through K
Member's last name begins with L through P
Member's last name begins with Q through Z
Back in the 1990s, California had a third Charter that disbanded and was absorbed by the Southern and Northern California Charters. This 3rd Charter was the Eastern Sierra California Horseshoe Pitching Association (ESCHPA). Unfortunately, there are only a few months’ worth of data and here is the ESCHPA member stats.
These lifetime stats will be updated annually; at the start of the new pitching year – October. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or missing data. Thank you and enjoy!
